Job Purpose
The primary purpose of the Shop Assistant / Cashier role is to deliver exceptional customer service, assist in stock replenishment, ensure merchandising standards are met, and efficiently process transactions at till points. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a great shopping experience.
- Assist customers in finding the products they are looking for.
- Address and resolve customer queries and complaints in a timely manner.
Cashier Duties
- Process cash and card payments efficiently.
- Handle Lay Bys and customer refunds.
- Report any discrepancies or problems to the supervisor.
- Ensure till balancing is accurate and done as required.
Merchandising
- Ensure that stock is correctly priced and displayed on the sales floor.
- Monitor product availability and assist in restocking when necessary.
- Maintain proper housekeeping standards, keeping the sales floor tidy.
- Stay informed about ongoing promotions and assist in implementing them.
Risk Management
- Ensure that all products are tagged in line with company policy.
- Participate in stock takes as scheduled.
- Be alert for shoplifters and fraudulent activities, and report any suspicious behavior to management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good communication skills; fluent in English (additional languages are beneficial).
