Job Description
Hyundai Boksburg is seeking a Workshop Foreman to oversee service and repairs in their workshop, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The Workshop Foreman will manage staff, tools, and resources to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop, maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Position Overview
The Workshop Foreman is responsible for ensuring that motor vehicles are serviced and repaired according to Hyundai’s standards. The foreman will oversee the use of materials, equipment, and labor, and supervise staff in carrying out vehicle repairs and diagnostics. This role also involves ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and that customer satisfaction is maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and Repairs:
- Repair and service motor vehicles according to AMH standards and specifications.
- Ensure that parts required for services or repairs are correctly identified and ordered.
- Report any additional work required to the Foreman or Service Advisor and obtain authorization before proceeding.
- Ensure oils, consumables, and worked hours are accurately recorded.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and work bay during and after servicing.
- Team Supervision:
- Supervise and guide apprentices, imparting technical knowledge and ensuring high standards of work.
- Ensure the workshop follows safety regulations and maintains clean and organized work areas.
- Report faulty equipment to the Foreman or Workshop Manager promptly.
- Adherence to Workshop Policies:
- Follow AMH workshop policies and procedures at all times.
- Use tools and equipment according to safety regulations and specifications.
- Customer Care:
- Ensure the vehicle is kept as clean as possible during the repair or service process.
- Ensure that all work is completed to customer satisfaction, maintaining high levels of professionalism.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualifications:
- Qualified Technician with a relevant qualification in automotive technology.
- Experience:
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a Workshop Foreman or in a similar supervisory role in the automotive industry.
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle repairs and service standards.
- Proficient in using workshop tools and equipment.
- Leadership:
- Ability to manage and guide workshop staff, including apprentices.
