Job Overview
Unitrans seeks an experienced and reliable General Cleaner to maintain cleanliness across the premises and ensure the busses and surrounding areas are well-kept. The role requires a hands-on individual with strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and adherence to safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4.
- Health & Fitness: Medically fit and capable of handling physical tasks like bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling repetitively.
- Reliability: Own reliable transport to and from work.
- Work Conditions:
- Prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Clean criminal record.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficient in handling heavy cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe storage/disposal.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation to complete tasks independently.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Bus Cleaning
- Perform daily cleaning of buses.
- Clean buses after shifts in the afternoon.
- Premises Maintenance
- Ensure outside walkways are clear and free of debris.
- Notify building management of necessary repairs.
- General housekeeping of the entire premises.
- Environment Management
- Maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Adhere to safety standards while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Team Collaboration
- Work cohesively with the team and follow supervisor instructions.
