Job Overview
Unitrans seeks a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to ensure effective cashflow management, reconcile financial transactions, and provide comprehensive reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and auditing, ensuring payments are processed timely and regulatory compliance is maintained.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, or a related qualification.
- Experience:
- Up to 5 years in a similar role with demonstrated expertise in financial reconciliation and cashflow management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Bank Reconciliation
- Review bank reconciliations performed by cashbook clerks and sub-ledgers.
- Analyze and review bank revaluation reports for foreign currency accounts.
- Prepare and review control account and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain schedules for unknown bank deposits and apply appropriate accounting treatments.
Payments Management
- Oversee the loading of nominal/cashbook payments.
- Monitor and manage bank balances to ensure funding for scheduled transactions.
- Liaise with banks for incoming/outgoing payment processing and pay card funding.
- Compile information for SARB approvals and in-country payments.
Cashflow Forecasting and Reporting
- Prepare and review cashflow forecasts for day-to-day and strategic planning.
- Consolidate and submit bank balance and cashflow forecast reports to management.
Treasury and Financial Matters
- Manage loan schedules and process loan movement journals.
- Maintain detailed records of loan facilities and verify online bank payments.
- Prepare Treasury-related schedules for quarterly Board/ARC reports.
- Process X3 journal entries and other treasury-related transactions.
General Financial Support
- Resolve queries related to cashflow, payments, and reconciliations.
- Support cashbook clerks and assist with internal and external audits.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, journal processing, and intercompany trade reconciliations.
- Address ad hoc financial requests and reporting needs.
