Job Overview:

The Despatch Clerk ensures effective dispatching of goods, accurate stock control, and adherence to quality standards. This role also involves supervising staff, maintaining discipline, and managing inventory levels while ensuring smooth operational processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify the accuracy of loading sheets.
  • Manage short loads and prepare credit notes.
  • Inspect the quality of bread to meet company standards.
  • Ensure accurate transfer of bread from production to dispatch.
  • Summarize bread reconciliation reports, comparing transfers to issues/orders.
  • Complete wage norms to ensure proper shift resourcing.
  • Inspect trucks before locking and dispatching.
  • Maintain required stock levels and manage inventory variances.
  • Supervise and discipline staff per company policy.
  • Utilize clocking systems effectively for all employees.
  • Drive continuous improvement through initiatives like Invocom and 20 Keys.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum: Matric (Grade 12) or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 1–2 years’ clerical experience.
  • Proficiency in PC applications (MS Office, NT Windows, MS Outlook).
  • Knowledge of the bakery environment (advantageous).
