Role Purpose:
The Casual Cashier role at Dis-Chem Pharmacies involves providing excellent customer service at the point of sale, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and maintaining company standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
Sales Operations:
- Accurately process transactions, including sales, refunds, and payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, and coupons).
- Handle loyalty cards and transactions for accelerator partners (e.g., Discovery Health, Momentum Multiply).
- Manage cash flow securely and adhere to company policies for voids and price changes.
Security and Risk:
- Safeguard cash in the till and handle drop safe deposits per SOPs.
- Ensure all outgoing items are scanned and paid for.
- Stay alert and report any suspicious behavior to management.
Additional Duties:
- Be aware of sales promotions and assist customers accordingly.
- Address merchandise-related queries.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s security policies and ensure a safe environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12/Matric.
- Experience: Minimum 6 months in cashier/till operations.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong numerical skills and command of English.
- Basic customer service knowledge.
Competencies:
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Trustworthiness and accountability.
- Emotional intelligence and social awareness.
- Problem-solving and basic report analysis.
- Presentable and strong time management skills.
Advantageous:
