Company Overview:
Motus Vehicles Distributor is seeking an experienced Parts Manager for its Renault Dealership in Melrose. As part of a leading player in the automotive industry, this role is designed to maximize parts sales while maintaining profitability and adhering to inventory management best practices.

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to plan, manage, and monitor the implementation of sales activities and processes related to parts, ensuring optimal stock control, profit margins, and return on investment. You’ll play a vital role in coordinating sales strategies and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Management:

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets set by M/Importer for parts, products, and accessories.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance parts sales and profitability.
  • Oversee and coordinate sales channels, including telesales, counter sales, and field sales representatives.
  • Implement and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure smooth operation.
  • Ensure that all parts returned are managed effectively, and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
  • Regularly monitor progress against operational plans, adjusting where necessary to meet targets.
  • Manage stock levels and mitigate any operational risks related to the supply chain.

Financial Management:

  • Grow turnover and customer base to maximize profits through optimized parts sales.
  • Monitor and report on budget variances, implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Manage financial activities in line with company policies, ensuring efficient cost management.

Customer Management:

  • Build and maintain sustainable relationships with clients by consistently delivering products and services that exceed their expectations.
  • Identify and address customer needs by providing relevant parts, products, and accessories to improve customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Plan and monitor processes to ensure a culture of customer service excellence.

Team Management:

  • Create an engaging and productive work environment that encourages continuous learning and growth.
  • Ensure staff have the necessary technical knowledge and skills to perform effectively.
  • Implement workforce planning, recruitment, and performance management to ensure optimal employee performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: 3 – 5 years in a similar environment, with 1 – 3 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Education: Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Industry Knowledge: Broad understanding of the motor industry and related logistics.
  • Driver’s License: Valid and unendorsed.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of the automotive parts industry and logistics operations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and profitability.
  • Proficient in managing inventory systems and stock control procedures.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills to build lasting customer relationships.
