Company Overview:
Hyundai Automotive South Africa is seeking a skilled Parts Manager to join the Retail Parts Distribution Centre. The Parts Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of parts operations, including sales, stock control, and administrative processes, while driving profitability and customer satisfaction.

Job Purpose:

To manage and oversee all parts-related activities, ensuring efficient service delivery, stock control, and operational risk management. This includes maximizing profits through the effective management of sales, staff, and warehouse operations while maintaining adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

Process Management:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sales strategies to meet and exceed targets.
  • Define and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) for parts management.
  • Ensure effective stock control processes, including perpetual stock counts, discrepancy investigations, and system updates.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure stock availability and timely delivery.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including Receiving and Despatch, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement mechanisms to safeguard assets and stock in line with company policies.
  • Manage returns for credit and handle stock discrepancies.

Administrative Management:

  • Ensure cash controls and expense management are properly enforced.
  • Analyze management reports to control costs and reduce risks.
  • Ensure daily orders, returns, and processing are handled efficiently.
  • Maintain updated records, including credit notes, perpetual files, and staff attendance.

Customer Management:

  • Build sustainable relationships to foster a culture of customer service excellence.
  • Ensure timely availability of parts, products, and accessories to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and improve processes that directly impact customer retention and loyalty.

Team & People Management:

  • Create a productive work environment aligned with the company’s employee value proposition.
  • Manage staff recruitment, training, and development to ensure technical expertise.
  • Monitor performance, reward staff appropriately, and manage change in a proactive manner.
  • Promote company values and encourage high levels of staff engagement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: 5 – 10 years in Parts Management, with a focus on logistics and stock control.
  • Education: Grade 12 and a National Diploma in Operations Management.
  • Skills: Proficient in the Drive Operating System, Excel, and Microsoft Office.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Ability to implement operational controls and manage risks.
  • Strong understanding of cost management and expense control.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are essential.
  • Proficient in trend analysis and developing strategies to improve sales and stock performance.
