Hyundai Automotive South Africa is seeking a motivated 1st Year Apprentice to join our dynamic team at the Hyundai N1 City branch. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in automotive mechanics while working with a leading brand in the industry.
Job Purpose:
The Apprentice Level 1 will engage in various mechanical tasks and develop essential skills in engine maintenance, repair, and diagnostics. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the automotive industry and eager to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove, Recondition & Replace Cylinder Heads: Assist in the removal and installation of cylinder heads, ensuring proper reconditioning processes are followed.
- Dismantle, Service, Repair & Assemble Engine Block: Gain experience in the complete lifecycle of engine blocks, including dismantling, servicing, and reassembly.
- Remove, Diagnose & Replace Fuel System Components: Learn to identify issues within fuel systems and replace components as needed.
- Understand Basic Electronics: Develop foundational knowledge of automotive electronics and their applications.
- Test Ignition System Components: Conduct testing and diagnostics on ignition systems to ensure functionality.
- Study Fundamentals of Engine Efficiency & Forced Charging Systems: Learn the principles of engine performance and efficiency.
- Move, Test, Repair & Replace Electrical Components: Work with electrical systems, including testing and replacing faulty components.
- Remove & Replace Clutch & Transmission Components: Assist in clutch and transmission servicing to understand critical drivetrain components.
- Diagnose & Repair Brake System & Components: Engage in the diagnostics and repairs of brake systems to ensure safety and performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Science.
- An accredited tertiary qualification relevant to the role is advantageous.
