Position Overview

Fidelity Services Group is seeking a skilled Technician – Fleet Management to join the Western Cape FADT team.

This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of vehicle tracking systems, video telematics, and fleet management devices. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in automotive electrical systems, strong fault-finding skills, and hands-on experience in fleet technology.

This is an excellent opportunity for technicians looking to specialize in fleet management and vehicle security systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Maintenance

  • Complete hardware and tracking system installations to the highest quality standards.

  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade vehicle tracking and telematics systems.

  • Ensure timely completion of all assigned installations and service tasks.

2. Technical Support

  • Provide product support onsite and remotely.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and client queries efficiently.

  • Assist with technical evaluations, diagnostics, and repairs.

3. Fleet & Asset Management

  • Manage stock and tools of trade vehicle.

  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all technical work.

  • Support stolen vehicle recovery operations and tracking management.

4. Feedback & Reporting

  • Provide comprehensive feedback to supervisors and internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate records of all installations, maintenance, and fleet management activities.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12) required.

  • Driver’s license (Code B).

  • Trade test in motor electrical/electronics or similar (preferred).

  • Auto-electrician qualification (advantageous).

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the fitment of vehicle tracking equipment.

  • Proven technical experience with fleet management devices and telematics systems.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in installations.

  • Action-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.

  • Good communication and client-facing abilities.
