The cornerstone of Adendorff’s continuous corporate success is its strategic investment in its workforce. The company strongly advocates for the design and implementation of internal Organizational Development and ongoing product training frameworks. By stepping into the East London branch division, you are not simply taking on a routine sales position; you are entering a supportive educational ecosystem. The business focuses on developing well-rounded staff members who thoroughly understand the technical applications, mechanics, and customer service strategies necessary to build lifelong client relationships.

Operational Hours & Shift Commitment: To provide dependable support to contractors, mechanics, and industrial operators when they need tools most, Adendorff branches maintain a comprehensive six-day operating schedule. The working hours for this role are strictly Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:00. Complete reliability, strict punctuality, and a strong sense of team accountability during these core operational blocks are mandatory prerequisites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Consultative Sales & Technical Customer Support

  • Greet, engage, and guide incoming customers on the retail floor, actively listening to their technical project requirements to recommend the correct tools, machinery, and accessories.

  • Deliver accurate, safety-oriented product demonstrations covering tool functionality, power parameters, safety gear necessities, and warranty guidelines.

  • Proactively identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities by ensuring customers purchase necessary companion items (such as specialized bits, safety glasses, cleaning solvents, or consumables) alongside their primary machinery purchases.

2. Merchandising Excellence & Showroom Standards

  • Execute daily product merchandising plans, ensuring shelves are fully stocked, heavy machinery is safely anchored/displayed, and pricing labels accurately match the central database.

  • Assist in organizing eye-catching storefront layouts that optimize traffic flow, minimize safety hazards, and enhance product visibility for walking trade.

  • Maintain clean, functional, and fully complete demonstration units across the floor to ensure a premium interactive experience for prospective buyers.

3. Inventory Management & Stock Control Procedures

  • Participate actively in regular branch stocktaking events, weekly cycle counts, and audits to maintain 100% database accuracy and systematically minimize shrinkage.

  • Process incoming inventory shipments at the receiving bay, carefully inspecting units for transit defects, verifying item quantities against manifests, and updating stock control logs.

  • Adhere strictly to the branch’s established retail procedures regarding cash handling, point-of-sale invoicing, and product return evaluations.

Minimum Requirements & Desired Candidate Profile

Mandatory Criteria

  • Must possess a valid Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12).

  • Confident, polite, and effective communication skills to interact comfortably with a highly technical and varied consumer base.

  • A completely Clear Criminal Record is required for formal corporate placement.

  • Demonstrated reliability, personal honesty, and an innate ambition to learn and grow continuously within a fast-paced retail team.

Added Advantages & Preferential Assets

  • Prior exposure or working experience within a modern retail environment—specifically covering merchandising, cashier duties, stock control, and standard branch procedures.

  • Technical Aptitude: Previous practical knowledge, a personal hobby, or background experience in DIY tools, automotive mechanics, agricultural machinery, or general hardware environments will give your application a massive competitive advantage.
