Job Title: Assistant Training Officer – Gauteng – Mining Industry

RPO Recruitment’s client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Training Officer to join our team in the Gauteng region within the mining industry. As an Assistant Training Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Training Officer in coordinating and facilitating training programs for employees within the mining industry. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a strong background in training, knowledge of the mining industry, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Training Officer in designing, coordinating, and delivering training programs for employees in the mining industry.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify training needs and develop training plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and trainers to develop training materials, manuals, and presentations.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of training sessions, ensuring all necessary resources and equipment are available.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and outcomes.
  • Support the Training Officer in managing the training budget and ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to continuously enhance training programs.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling training sessions, managing participant registrations, and maintaining training databases.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of e-learning platforms and online training modules.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Training and Development, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Assessor Certificate.
  • Assessor registration for Mobile Lifting Machines with TETA.
  • Valid Lifting Machine certificates
  • 3 years’ experience as a Training Officer or similar role in the mining industry is highly preferred.
  • Experience on Mobile Lifting Machines (Truck Mounted Crane, Overhead Crane, Mobilift, Telescopic Boom Handler, Forklift, Mobile Elevated Work Platform / Cherry Picker Mobile Cranes, Basic Rigging).
  • Knowledge of mining industry operations, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and train diverse groups of employees.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various mining sites within Gauteng as required.
