Del Manager: Vehicle Mngmnt | BMW Responsible to the Domain owners for the innovation, development and operation of the IT Domain and its related products and respective services throughout the entire life cycle. Providing technology innovation for SAP, Cloud, Data analytics as agreed with Domain owners. Influence on the design of the Group template solution for IT Products.

 

General: Del Manager: Vehicle Mngmnt | BMW

  • Ensure the build-up and management of the Vehicle Management at Dealer offer pipeline for the ZA Hub in line with the strategic vision.
  • Ensure integration of strategy and business model results and actions into Governance activities.
  • Ensure and enforce the establishment and execution of policies and procedures for the Vehicle Management at Dealer department at the ZA Hub.
  • Ensure the successful execution of all the ZA Hub’s Vehicle Management at Dealer related Delivery Portfolios for complex large-scale initiatives according to BMW standards.
  • Ensure the delivery of all agreed Vehicle Management at Dealer requirements within the within agreed budget, time and quality.
  • Ensure resource planning for all Pipeline deliverables including legal changes etc.
  • Manage the Group standard implementation and the alignment of the ZA Hub Vehicle Management at Dealer department with central FG standards and processes.
  • Ensure all agreed ITL targets are met regarding the Vehicle Management at Dealer a department in the ZA Hub South Africa e.g. growth (resources and deliveries).
  • Influence and negotiate business planning and processes to adhere to existing business templates, IT standards and strategies.
  • Give strategic direction for Vehicle Management at Dealer sourcing and staffing models.
  • Effective management of complex international initiatives and multi projects.
  • Overall steering and management of the Vehicle Management at Dealer ZA Hub budget, incl. forecasting and customer transparency.
  • Right to decide about the allocation of internal and external resources, the functional sourcing and the operative management of the external partners (in coordination with provider controlling and purchasing) in the above-mentioned context.
  • Entitled to request information and support from the corresponding business functions in order to adequately handle the above-mentioned responsibilities and tasks.
  • Supports the corresponding IT Domains in the above-mentioned context.
  • Continually adjusts and improves the IT Products and IT services.
  • Sourcing and staffing of Feature Teams with internal employees and/or external contractors considering the legal framework based on the requirements of Funnel Management and Domain Owners.

 

Personnel/Resource Management: Del Manager: Vehicle Mngmnt | BMW

  • Mentor and coaching of managers and team members.
  • Allocate and balance resources to support company and customer requirements.
  • Forecast personnel / contractor resources required to achieve both short and long term objectives.
  • Ensure the approval of additional or the availability of existing resources for additional prioritized requirements.
  • Conduct direct reports career planning and development.
  • Ensure establishment of Skills development programs.
  • Contribute positively to the BMW SA BBBEE targets.
  • Negotiate sourcing models with Purchasing.

 

Compliance and Governance: Del Manager: Vehicle Mngmnt | BMW

Driving the ZA Hub Vehicle Management at Dealer team’s adherence to the IT relevant compliance requirements in the local and international legislative framework.  Defining, implementing and ensure adherence to the appropriate processes and policies accordingly.

Ensure all relevant Audit points are transparently documented and directly manages their closure through a transparent process.

Implement the IT Governance requirements (e.g. IT Security, IT Compliance, IT Risk and IT Architecture).

 

Leadership Tasks: Del Manager: Vehicle Mngmnt | BMW

  • Managing the resources and skills within the section in line with BMW Guidelines and Procedures.
  • Disciplinarily lead managers and associates in own department in line with agreed goals and targets.
  • Agree targets for Direct Reporting Managers.
  • Delegating tasks to managers and managing their delivery accordingly.
  • Setting and communicating policies and processes as well as delegating tasks or roles to peers via functional / matrix leadership outside of the department.
  • Motivate associates and managers to achieve above average performance.
  • Act in fair and unbiased manner to obtain loyalty to the company and the department based on the BMW 5 core values.
  • Take corrective action in line with company policy where necessary. This include disciplinary action.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals with direct reports.
  • Recommend organizational changes, training, and development programs.
  • Effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications – External

  • B Comm. / BSc degree in Business, Information Technology or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Post graduate MBA or equivalent degree or qualification in Business Administration or 15+ years of experience in General/Senior Management in a large corporate, of which at least 5 years are in the IT function.
  • 15+ years working experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Automotive, Science, IT or related industries.
  • 10+ years of experience in Senior Management (leading other managers) with exposure to Engineering or Manufacturing, IT, Sales and Marketing or Commercial functions.
  • 10+ years’ experience in international projects or working on international assignments.
  • 10+ years IT project management or Agile methodology experience.
  • As an advantage, additional general mixed experience in IT systems, infrastructure and application architectures and technologies e.g. Operating Systems, Networks, Servers, Databases, Backup, Storage and Archiving, Web Technologies (Internet, Intranet), End Devices, Security (Encryption, Authentication, Anti-Virus), middleware and connection interfaces.
  • Outstanding leadership capabilities – coaching, mentoring, motivation skills.
  • Strategic and global thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to present and market ZA Hub strategy.
  • Familiar with BMW legal, contractual and Human Resource requirements.
  • Ability to lead a team in order to deliver high standard projects /Products within the group standards in order to meet international business objectives.
  • Strong people leadership skills and a proven capability to lead in matrix organizations without formal disciplinary responsibility (this includes the ability to lead peers successfully).
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a commercial focus – ability to communicate IT matters in business or commercial terms.
  • Proven commercial acumen and sound working knowledge of financial planning, controlling and steering skills.
  • Proven ability to be effective in dealing with uncertainty and a volatile environment with often ambiguous and conflicting requirements and priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic manner.

  • Influence platform decisions in cooperation with central Group IT functions in order to optimise solutions / products based on projected future IT solutions.
  • Provide cost calculations of Agile DevOps management and efforts for international IT Domains and Products.
  • Leadership, direction and support CBS ZA Hub teams to ensure appropriate engagement in order to deliver the ZA Hub CBS Domain in line with BMW Group policies and frameworks.
  • Ability to force adherence to BMW Group policies and procedures including governance.
