Job Description
As a UX Designer with AFGRI, you will be at the forefront of crafting engaging and intuitive user experiences across our digital platforms. Leveraging your expertise in user research, wireframing, and prototyping, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to transform complex business requirements into seamless and visually compelling designs. Your role will involve a deep commitment to understanding user behaviours and needs, guiding design decisions through iterative testing, and ensuring the accessibility and inclusivity of our products. You are a creative thinker with a passion for human-centred design, proficient in industry-standard tools, and eager to contribute to the evolution of digital user interfaces.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Communication Design or Information Design
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Relevant industry experience is required
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Interact and build relationships with the business community at various levels, including facilitating design workshops, one-on-one interviews and presentations to relevant stakeholders
- Actively perform troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ensure the provision of an integrated support service to business
- Ensure continual and constructive operational alignment with IT Teams including but not limited to Infrastructure, PMO (Project Management Office), Data, Innovation, Digital and Cx (Customer Experience) Teams
- Participate in deploying new/existing functionality already available in applications that will add value to the business
- Constructively use new technology as it becomes available in AFGRI and in so doing demonstrate a trust in the technology to business
- Promote and contribute to the development of a culture of continuous improvement across the Group.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve current solutions and processes
- Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and the identification of better ways of working
- Participate in team actions where new projects/technologies/mobility apps/innovations are investigated which is non-module specific
- Keep up to date with the latest developments on existing applications
- Ensure full compliance with the AFGRI SDLC policy across all projects and change requests including software purchases e.g., governance, strategy, framework, best practices)
- Support the delivery of flow or work to the client and improve efficiency in the team and own work without compromising on quality.
- Identify potential risks in all working environments and report to the appropriate forum
- Ensure that all stakeholders comply with all relevant AFGRI frameworks, policies and procedures
- Ensure Legal Compliance with all relevant legislation
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES
- Strong understanding of UX/UI methodologies, User-centred design, best practices and processes.
- Experience in conducting user research through user interviews, usability testing, surveys etc.
- Ability to analyse research to define user problems, needs and insights that inform design decisions.
- Familiarity with research methodologies, data analysis, and tools such as user testing platforms.
- Skilled at creating user journeys, wireframes, task flows and understanding information architecture.
- Be able to visualise concepts and interactions, by creating and iterating on UI and prototypes from insights and feedback.
- Experience working with design tools such as Figma (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with working in an agile environment.
- Strong MS Office
- Adobe CC Skills
- Graphic design, colour theory, typography.
- Understanding HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React.
- Understanding front-end libraries and components.
- IT Industry knowledge and a passion for understanding new developments and changes in the IT sector
- Knowledge of Out of the box features for creating webpages, forms, workflows and more are a must.
- A creative mind for design and asset generation
