Salary: R65 500.00 pm CTC

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Trade: Fitter & Turner / Electrician/ Toolmaker
• Tool Jig and Die certification (advantage)
EXPERIENCE:
• Qualified Toolmaker/Fitter & turner or Electrician.
• 5+ years related work experience in similar job.
• 5+ years management experience.
• Valid Code 8 Drivers License.
• Sound financial management – budgets.
• Project management experience – short term implementing.
• Computerised Asset Management Program (SAP).

• Experience in toolroom and maintenance environments with a proven record of design and manufacturing of press tools, jigs and fixtures, CNC machine setting and tool changes, and programming.
• Exposure in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• SAP – Preventative maintenance modules.
MAIN TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance Manager
• Supervise and lead all toolroom and maintenance processes and activities.
• Track expenses and oversee the budget for toolroom and maintenance areas.
• Maintain all tooling and machinery to ensure they are working standards.
• Implement department procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
• Plan and manage all repair and installation activities.
• Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates.
• Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
• Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary.
• Manage and actively promote workplace safety by driving safety education and compliance
programs in conjunction with the SHEQ department.
• Manage asset performance evaluation through the conversion of data into useful
management information.
• Keep team members up to date regarding company-related matters.
• Identify team member knowledge/skill gaps and plan training accordingly.

• Manage the tool room and maintenance teams on technical best practice and establish
standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and providing technical expertise the
team.
• Plan the workload, materials and equipment requirements including the maintenance
thereof, to ensure all tooling and maintenance jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
• Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate
systems.
• Support production and engineering with tooling/technical problems.
• Manufacture new tools from technical drawings to a high level of workmanship and in an
efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Develop and implement improvements to manufacturing of tooling and equipment to
improve product quality, increase throughput and reduce process variability.
• Manage purchasing requirements and maintain raw material stock levels.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Maintenance Manager
• Artisan utilization to be accurate and over 85%.
• Planned Maintenance Percentage to be above 75%
• Completion of reports, logs, and inventory status in time frame as agreed.
• Attendance targets are in line with company-agreed targets.
• Safety – Zero lost time incidents
• Skills Matrix is updated every 6 months.

• Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

• Knowledge of company system and procedures
• Knowledge of the Labour act, OHSA and or any other regulatory acts which may affect the
company.
SKILLS:
• Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
• Prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to estimate length of breakdowns / jobs and advise with realistic and accurate
timeframes.
• Ability ‘think on your feet’ and change priorities at short notice.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
