MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide accurate inventory assistance to the warehouse and increase the company’s growth and revenue through accuracy and ethical measures.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Signing for shipments upon receipt and verifying that the correct merchandise has been received.
- Assisting Warehouse Stock Controller with all inventory related duties and responsibilities
- Thoroughly inspecting merchandise for any damages and discrepancies.
- Maintaining an accurate record of all merchandise received and distributed.
- Contacting suppliers or distributors to resolve any shipment or delivery issues.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and arrange merchandise accordingly.
- Strategically storing merchandise to maximize storage space within the warehouse.
- Weighing merchandise and selecting appropriate envelopes, boxes, containers, or crates in which to pack merchandise.
- Promptly processing distribution and online orders or requests, which includes retrieving specified merchandise from storage as well as packing, sealing, and labelling merchandise accordingly.
SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Matric compulsory, higher education advantageous
- Retail and/or warehouse experience
- Inventory control systems
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Must be based in Johannesburg
