Job Description

To manage the purchasing and procurement processes and assure requirements are met and that costs and safety standards are maintained.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or NQF Level equivalent.
  • Higher Certificate in Procurement Management will be advantageous.
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Stock Controller, Buyer or Receiver in a Procurement Department.
  • Parts Store team leader/ supervisory experience will be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of NAV will be a definite advantage.
  • Must be Computer literate (Microsoft Package).
  • A willingness to work overtime, shifts and weekends when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the purchasing and replenishment of the stock levels within budget as set by the business.
  • Maintain the supply and demand of inventory and ensure that there is adequate stock available.
  • Ensure stock purchasing, delivery and shipping confirmations and manage inventory balances.
  • Keep a complete and detailed database of inventory and supply documentation.
  • Personally inspect and confirm supply quality and delivery.
  • Ensure all inventory and stock management systems are maintained accurately, within the agreed parameters and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for purchasing and “in-stock” levels.
  • Purchase inventory within agreed budget.
  • Adhere to and maintain the process of handling returns.
  • Manage a defined area in the storeroom for returns/credit; this will include out-of-date and damaged goods.
  • Maintain harmonious working relations with suppliers/ vendors within buying parameters set by the business.
  • Oversee and assume responsibility for the NAV system.
  • Observe correct buying protocols.
  • Unpack orders and stock shelves as required.
  • Complete all necessary stock-takes.
  • Maintain the storeroom and allocation of space for stock.
  • Always comply with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Any other duties as may be required by management.
