Job Description
Main Purpose: To provide Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) guidance and support to the Company to ensure compliance to corporate HSE standards and applicable legislation and to manage the HSE function and personnel on site.

Key Performance Areas:

To provide HSE support to the Company in order to achieve departmental strategies which include long and short term objectives and targets.
Monitor site HSE performance in order to guide the Company towards effective, ongoing HSE improvements.
Manage site HSE Officers functional responsibilities and performance.
Ensure that the required operational standards and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all time.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements to obtain and retain ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications.
Provide input and support to the Company with regards to all incidents, corrective actions and the effectiveness thereof.
Enable effective communications of all related issues within the Company.
Perform management inspections and audits for all sites.
Report back on all performance aspects to Senior Management.
Ensure good Client relationships and ongoing HSE communication.
Support Employee Wellness Program (EWP).
Recruit, manage the performance, train, develop and retain Human Capital to achieve objectives.
Any other job related duties as required from time to time.

Preferred Requirements:

National Diploma in Safety Management (NADSAM).
Safety and Environmental courses (HIRA, RCAT, First Aid, Health, Safety and Environment Auditing, Construction regulations, Implementation of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
ICDL qualification would be advantageous.
ITIS presentation skills course.
Registered member with the SACPSMP as a Safety Manager.
Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (OHS Act No 85 of 1993).
Sound knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment legislation and Risk Management principles.
Sound knowledge on Health, Safety and Environment standards and implementation thereof.
Sound knowledge in auditing of Health, Safety and Environment standards.
Computer literate (MS Office).
Valid drivers’ license.
