Pursch Artistes is an established, and highly reputable agency based in De Waterkant – Cape Town, and has been supplying talent to the film industry for over 25 years. We represent professional actors in our Actors division, and high-performance commercial talent of all ages in our commercial and youth divisions, for film, television, commercials, voice and stills.

We are looking for a highly efficient, and organised, Administrator whose primary role is to provide general administrative support to the Bookers (answer / respond to calls and emails, send casting messages, greet and direct visitors, track and purchase office supplies and stationery, scan, save and file various documents etc.) and to assist with basic accounts functions that we would provide training on (collecting timesheets, calculating hours worked, invoicing, bill creation and sending payslips).

This is a temporary position at present (for the rest of our busy season), but with a view to turning into full-time employment for the right person in a slightly more experienced position (which would include the possibility of after-hours work handling the off-duty phone calls on some evenings/weekends).

We need a very hard worker with a great sense of humour, and somebody who is happy working long days at an (unglamorous) desk job!

MUST have impeccable verbal and written communication skills, must be someone who thrives on being organised and having things in the right place and in the right order, MUST have a strong ability to multitask and be unafraid to take criticism and laugh at themselves. MUST be an outgoing and ‘easy to get along with’ type personality who is able to work in a stressful, time-pressured environment, for long hours (during our ‘season’) with high accuracy.

Please do not apply if you are not able to cope under pressure, are not keen on hard work, or if you are a highly sensitive personality unable to cope with constructive criticism! We are a small team, and as such, all work will be seen and relied upon – i.e. we are not a big corporate where you can fly under the radar in terms of your work ethic and ability.

Desired experience and qualification
Grade 12
Relevant diploma or degree advantageous
Basic understanding of financial figures and calculations
Quickbooks Desktop experience would be a plus
Driver’s license & own vehicle

There is no previous industry experience necessary as you will receive training on our specific systems, and the Cape Town film industry as a whole – to us, your personality, work ethic, and organisational skills are more important than previous industry knowledge.

Salary: negotiable dep. on previous experience

Hours: 09h00 – +/18h30/19h00 in commercial season (earlier in our off-season)
Starting date: immediate (negotiable)
