My client in the global freight logistics industry is looking for an Airfreight Export Controller to join their team in Cape Town.
Ideal start date: 1 April 2021
The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling the end-to-end airfreight export shipment process including all the necessary paperwork in the movement of cargo in line with company procedures and relevant legislation. Ensuring service levels are achieved, and client relationships maintained.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for controlling the full export process relating to air freight, including liaising with airlines, ground handlers, agents, documentation management and registration on to Cargo Wise.
Source airline rates and negotiate rates, as necessary.
Continuous tracking of shipments and communicate regularly with the client regarding the status report for their shipment
Capture all shipments on Cargo Wise and ensure that estimates and relating freight, origin and destination charges reconcile to client’s profile and rate.
Attending to client and supplier queries to resolve timeously or escalate as required.
Responsible for invoicing of client files, ensuring accuracy of incoterms and rates to ensure timeous payment and closing of files
Desired Experience & Qualification
REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12
At least 5 years previous experience in airfreight as an export controller
Working knowledge of export procedures by air
Working knowledge of Airlines, Handling Agents and international transport
Working knowledge of Cargo Wise is essential
Knowledge of invoicing, with a minimum of 1 year’s proven experience
Basic knowledge of customs procedures
Knowledge of INCO terms
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
