Vacancy: Learning Programmes Operations Intern
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998. The MQA invites applications for an internship opportunity that currently exists at the MQA.
Unemployed applicants who have never participated in an internship programme, and are South African citizens, are invited to apply. The successful intern will be appointed up until 31 March 2020 in line with the SETA landscape and will receive a monthly stipend.
However, in the event that the SETA license is renewed, the internship will be for a period of 24 months.
The Learning Programmes Operations Intern will be trained on providing support in performing the administrative functions of the Learning Programmes Operations Unit.
The successful candidate will report to the Learning Programmes Specialist (Administration).
The internship will cover but will not be limited to the following:
• Learn and assist with administrative duties in relation to artisan, non-artisans, learnerships, OHS and AET projects;
• Register learning programmes agreements for artisan and non-artisans learnerships;
• Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders in line with the MQA’s customer service standards;
• Organise events including meetings and workshops for the Learning Programmes Operations Unit;
• Liaise with and maintain relationships with various MQA stakeholders;
• Assist with travel arrangements for the Learning Programmes Operations Unit;
• Assist with filing and document control;
• Provide administrative support to the Learning Programmes Operations Unit as and when needed; and
• Perform any other tasks delegated by the Learning Programmes Manager, Specialist.
Competencies
• Good communication and sound interpersonal skills;
• Have an understanding of skills development legislation concerning education and training;
• Be able to work under pressure;
• Possess a proactive attitude;
• Be stakeholder focused;
• Possess the ability to pay attention to details; and
• Have proficiency in MS Office packages.
Qualifications
• A National Diploma in Human Resources Development or Business Administration; or
• A BTech or degree in Human Resources Development or Business Administration.
