Role Purpose
The purpose of the P27 Shop Assistant/Cashier is to act as the face of the brand for our local communities. You are responsible for ensuring the store remains “Ready for Business” through meticulous stock replenishment and merchandising, while providing swift and accurate service at the till points. This role requires a blend of technical cashiering and physical floor management to ensure our customers find exactly what they need with ease.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Exceptional Customer Service

Shopper Assistance: Proactively help customers find the right sizes, styles, and products across our clothing and cellular ranges.

Complaint Handling: Attend to customer queries or complaints with a professional and helpful attitude.

2. Cashier & Financial Duties

Payment Processing: Accurately handle cash, credit card, and debit card transactions.

Specialized Transactions: Process Lay-Bys, customer refunds, and exchanges according to strict company policies.

Financial Integrity: Report any discrepancies to the supervisor immediately and ensure accurate till balancing at the end of every shift.
3. Merchandising & Housekeeping

Stock Availability: Ensure that the sales floor is constantly replenished so that popular items are always available.

Visual Standards: Ensure that stock is correctly priced and displays are neat and inviting.

Housekeeping: Maintain clean aisles and organized shelves to prevent accidents and enhance the shopping experience.

Promotions: Stay up to date with the latest store promotions to better inform and assist customers.
4. Risk Management & Loss Prevention

Security Tagging: Ensure products are tagged according to company policy to prevent theft.

Stock Takes: Actively participate in periodic stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy.

Vigilance: Be on the lookout for shoplifters or fraudulent activities and report suspicious behavior to Management.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this role within the Kagiso, Soweto, or Roodepoort areas, you should meet the following requirements:

Experience: Previous retail experience is advantageous but a high-energy, positive attitude is essential.
