Role Purpose
The Warehouse Nightshift Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of the warehouse from sunset to sunrise. This role is critical in the food supply chain, ensuring that orders are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched so that fresh products reach customers by dawn. You will lead a dedicated team, enforcing Urban Foods Policies & Procedures, while maintaining strict Health & Safety and hygiene standards.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Team Management

Shift Coordination: Manage and monitor the activities of all night-shift employees, ensuring they perform assigned tasks with precision.

Performance Development: Monitor team member performance and provide continuous briefing and training to ensure high productivity.

Administrative Oversight: Manage all administrative tasks relating to the night team, including attendance, shift handovers, and operational logs.
2. Stock Control & Quality Assurance

Product Integrity: Ensure all products (perishables/fresh goods) meet the required quality and freshness standards before dispatch.

Inventory Management: Oversee all aspects of stock handling, including replenishment, stock rotation (FEFO/FIFO), and accurate cycle counting.

Replenishment: Identify product availability issues and arrange for immediate stock replenishment to avoid order fulfillment delays.
3. Picking, Packing & Dispatch

Order Accuracy: Supervise the picking and packing process to ensure that all orders are processed according to company standards.

Dispatch Management: Oversee the final dispatch of orders, ensuring delivery vehicles are loaded efficiently and depart on schedule.

Efficiency Tracking: Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all daily night-shift orders to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
4. Health, Safety & Hygiene

Compliance: Maintain general warehouse hygiene and ensure the team adheres to strict Health and Safety (HSE) standards.

Safety Audits: Report unsafe acts or conditions and implement immediate corrective actions to prevent workplace injuries.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
To be considered for this associate-level leadership role in Johannesburg Rural, candidates must meet the following:

Education: Matric (Grade 12); a tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is highly advantageous.
