Position Overview
South African Airways is seeking qualified and professional Pilots to join their All Aircraft Fleets division based in Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will operate the aircraft safely and efficiently, ensuring strict adherence to aviation regulations, company procedures, and flight safety standards. As a First Officer, you will assist the Captain in all flight operations, contributing to the seamless and secure transport of passengers and cargo.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.

Ensure compliance with all Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and airline operational procedures.

Conduct pre-flight inspections, route planning, and performance calculations.

Monitor aircraft systems, weather conditions, and flight performance throughout the journey.

Communicate effectively with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the flight crew.

Uphold the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and service.

Participate in flight simulator training and professional development programs.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or equivalent.
-
CAA Commercial Pilot License (CPL) – Essential.
-
Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Frozen ATPL – Required.

Valid Instrument Rating (IR) – Essential.
-
South African Citizenship – Mandatory.

Minimum 1,000 hours total flying time.

At least 200 hours Multi-Engine experience.

200 hours on Turbine aircraft.
-
Previous advanced training on Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTD) is advantageous.
