Position Overview
The Strategy Consultant will be a key member of the Group Strategy Function, reporting directly to the Group Head: Strategy. This role plays a pivotal part in driving strategic initiatives, supporting business growth, and facilitating strategy execution across the Hollard Group and its partnership businesses.
The successful candidate will combine market research, strategic analysis, and business development expertise to help the organisation identify opportunities, optimise performance, and achieve long-term goals. This role is ideal for professionals with insurance, consulting, or corporate strategy experience, including a Pan-African and global perspective.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct market research and analysis to deliver actionable insights through Hollard’s Market Intelligence hub.

Support the establishment, cascading, and alignment of Group Goals across all business units.

Assist Hollard businesses and enablement functions in strategy formulation, considering Beacons, Pan-African trends, and global best practices.

Drive the execution of key strategic initiatives, providing executive updates to relevant forums.

Support the incubation of new business opportunities, including identification, assessment, and development of potential ventures.

Collaborate across departments to visualise strategic concepts and communicate insights effectively.

Maintain a resilient, agile, and innovative approach in supporting long-term organisational goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance, strategy, consulting, or corporate development.

Experience within the insurance industry is highly advantageous.

Exposure to Pan-African markets and regional business trends preferred.

Strong strategic and logical thinking skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.

Advanced business and financial analytics capabilities.

Proven experience in market research, data analysis, and visualisation of strategic concepts.

Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Ability to take a mid- to long-term perspective, considering broader industry, regional, and global implications.

Demonstrated resilience, agility, and innovation in strategy execution.
Educational Requirements

University graduate (postgraduate preferred) with a commercial or related Honours degree.

Additional certifications in strategy, consulting, or business analysis are advantageous.
