Position Overview
The Diesel Mechanic – Piet Retief will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining agricultural diesel equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for candidates who are technically skilled, detail-oriented, and experienced with agricultural equipment, particularly tractors and mechanised implements.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
-
Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
-
Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal).
-
Experience working on agricultural equipment.
-
Computer literate.
-
Strong technical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Advantageous:
-
Experience with New Holland tractors and other mechanisation equipment.

Prior exposure to agricultural workshop environments.
Key Responsibilities
-
Diagnose malfunctions in diesel-powered agricultural machinery using inspection reports, test meters, and observational techniques.

Repair or replace defective components using hand tools, machines, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.

Test electrical components and wiring, performing necessary replacements or adjustments.

Reassemble equipment following repair, test operation, and make any required adjustments.

Maintain and service test equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

Recommend product or component improvements based on observed defects and operational data.

Complete all required documentation, including worksheets, certificates, receipts, and signed records.

Inspect equipment for safety and operational readiness before use.

Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure machinery reliability.
