Premier Foods is a leading food manufacturer in South Africa, producing high-quality maize, flour, and other staple products. The Premier Kroonstad Mill is seeking a skilled Shift Miller to ensure optimal milling performance, high-quality outputs, and efficient plant operations.
This role is ideal for candidates with practical milling experience, technical expertise in PLC-operated plants, and a commitment to maintaining high production standards.
Role Overview
The Shift Miller is responsible for controlling and adjusting the milling plant to achieve optimum output, extraction, and maize quality. The role involves ensuring consistent production, safe operations, and compliance with manufacturing and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Operate and adjust the milling plant to achieve target output and extraction.

Maintain quality consistency across maize and flour products.

Conduct miller maintenance and preparation tasks.
-
Monitor overall plant efficiency and report performance metrics.

Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000 and HACCP standards.

Promote safe working practices and maintain housekeeping standards.

Facilitate and coach Invocom™ sessions.
-
Stand in for other millers during annual leave or training.

Work rotating shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and standby duties.
Minimum Requirements
-
Matric / Grade 12
-
GMF Module 4 and Trade Test
-
5 years’ milling experience post-trade test
-
Experience with 20-ton per hour mills
-
Knowledge of OEE and PLC-operated plants
