Assistant Manager: Valuations Job Opening

Are you an experienced and registered valuer looking for a leadership role? The Office of the Valuer General (OVG) is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager: Valuations to join their team in Pretoria. This is a permanent position where you will play a key role in estimating property values in line with the Property Valuations Act.

Key Responsibilities

 

As the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for a range of critical duties, including:

  • Conducting Valuations: Performing property valuations for land reform purposes, as well as for the acquisition and disposal of property. This involves conducting site inspections, market research, and compiling detailed valuation reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Conducting thorough quality assurance on valuation reports completed by other valuers to ensure compliance with legal standards and internal policies.
  • Client Representation: Attending to representations from property owners and addressing all queries related to valuations performed by the OVG.

 

Requirements

 

  • Education: A National Diploma or Degree in Real Estate, Property Studies, or a similar qualification accredited by the South African Council for Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP).
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in property valuation is required.
  • Professional Registration: You must be registered as a Professional Associated Valuer or Professional Valuer.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Detailed knowledge of the Property Valuations Act, 17 of 2014.
    • Understanding of rural development programs and factors affecting property values.
    • Proficiency in project management, report writing, and policy analysis.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A valid driver’s license is essential.
