Role Overview
The Retail Shop Assistant – Tools and Machinery position is a permanent entry-level role based at the Montague Gardens branch in Cape Town. The Retail Shop Assistant will support daily branch operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and assist with merchandising, stock control, and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities
The Retail Shop Assistant will be responsible for:

Customer Service: Deliver professional, friendly, and efficient service to all customers. Provide technical advice and product information when required.

Sales Generation: Assist with promoting products and services to meet branch sales goals. Support the team in achieving targets and upselling products.

Stock Management: Participate in merchandising, stock taking, and maintaining proper inventory control. Ensure products are correctly labeled and stored.

Retail Operations: Follow all branch procedures including opening, closing, and operational protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Team Support: Work collaboratively with colleagues, supporting team initiatives and contributing to a positive branch culture.

Minimum Requirements

Senior Certificate (Matric) required

Entry-level candidates with some retail or sales experience preferred

Basic understanding of merchandising, stock control, and customer service

Reliable, honest, and motivated team player

Confident communication skills in English; bilingual proficiency (Afrikaans & English) is advantageous
