ABOUT THE ROLE
Voltex (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Internal Sales Representative to join their Pretoria branch. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the successful candidate will be instrumental in driving customer requisition and revenue growth through effective internal sales strategies. This role involves face-to-face customer interactions, stock management, and assisting with cash sales at tills when required.
The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to company policies and procedures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sell the company’s electrical products directly to walk-in customers over the counter with professionalism and product knowledge.
- Manage and control all stock movements, including issuing daily stock quantities in collaboration with the Procurement Manager.
- Liaise effectively with dispatch teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries that meet customer expectations.
- Manage Cash On Delivery (COD) invoices and ensure the collection of outstanding payments promptly.
- Handle and process customer orders telephonically, maintaining clear communication and accuracy.
- Generate and issue invoices to customers, ensuring correctness and compliance with company standards.
- Manage quotes and customer information within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system efficiently.
- Obtain all necessary customer information such as order numbers, delivery addresses, contacts, and any special requirements to ensure accuracy of orders.
- Resolve customer queries promptly and professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
- Ensure that all stock leaving the company is properly documented to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Take initiative in daily tasks while complying with company policies and procedures.
- Participate actively in weekly and monthly sales meetings, contributing insights and feedback.
- Assist with regular stock-taking to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- A valid Grade 12 certificate is essential.
- An N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering is advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical sales, demonstrating a strong understanding of electrical products and customer needs.
- At least 2 years of experience in management or key account handling, showing capability in overseeing sales operations and client relationships.
Skills and Knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical products and the electrical industry.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with preference given to candidates experienced in K8 software.
- Ability to operate within a CRM system for quoting and order management.
- Driver’s license is considered an advantage for this role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage stock control effectively.
