ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Software Developer at SunBet is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications that enhance user experience and meet business needs. This role demands writing clean, efficient, and reliable code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and actively contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, as well as staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to keep the software cutting-edge and scalable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain clean, efficient, and maintainable code for software applications across the full development lifecycle.
  • Regularly update and refactor existing codebases to improve software performance, functionality, and security.
  • Write comprehensive unit tests and utilize other testing methods to ensure software robustness and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to translate user needs into functional software solutions.
  • Participate actively in code reviews to uphold code quality and share best practices.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues or bugs reported by users or identified during testing phases.
  • Proactively improve software stability and performance to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Produce and maintain clear, concise technical documentation, including code comments, system architecture details, and API documentation to ensure software maintainability.
  • Contribute innovative ideas during team meetings, especially regarding software features, system design, and overcoming technical challenges.
  • Participate in Agile development ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to track progress and align with team goals.
  • Continuously learn and adopt new tools, technologies, and programming frameworks to enhance individual and team productivity.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure SunBet’s software remains competitive and efficient.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in software development projects.
  • Proven experience working with databases and SQL.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ or JavaScript.
  • Experience with software development tools including IDEs, Git, and debugging utilities.
  • Familiarity with development methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database management.

Behavioural Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and evaluate complex information.
  • Expertise in applying technology and programming knowledge to solve problems.
  • Creativity in developing and improving software solutions.
