PFG Springs is seeking a dedicated Process Specialist to support the Process Manager in optimizing performance within the Hot End operations. This role involves monitoring and resolving process-related issues, analyzing production data, and driving continuous improvement to deliver world-class manufacturing standards within the float glass production environment.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Science, Engineering, or Operations Management
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a process technology role, specifically within the Hot End environment of float glass manufacturing
- Working knowledge of float glass raw materials, forming, and annealing processes
- Proficiency with SAP (production module) and MS Office
- Knowledge of industry legislation (BCEA, LRA, OSH Act) and quality standards (ISO)
- Experience implementing manufacturing methodologies such as VPM, 5S, and FI frameworks

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on production/process data
- Assertive decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on involvement and practical leadership within operations
- Ability to plan, organise, lead, and control multi-project environments
- Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal, and coaching abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Support and assist the Process Manager by driving productivity and achieving operational targets in line with business objectives
- Monitor hot end processes, perform physical tests, and analyze outcomes to ensure operational conformance
- Investigate non-conformance, recommend corrective actions, and follow through to resolution
- Build team competency via training schedules, coaching and assessment of employees at all levels
- Uphold safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSH Act safety standards
- Maintain ISO compliance through proper document control and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through visual management, 5S, teamwork, and focus improvement methods
