Key Purpose of the Role
The Store Manager is responsible for leading and managing all store operations to achieve key business goals. This includes increasing sales, maintaining operational efficiency, minimizing stock loss, and ensuring outstanding in-store customer service. You will lead a team of dedicated retail staff to deliver on PEP’s vision of providing affordable products to every South African, every day.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive Sales Growth: Focus on delivering top-tier customer service, effective merchandising, and implementing promotions that enhance turnover.
- Stock & Loss Control: Monitor and manage stock flow while implementing preventative measures to reduce shrinkage and cash handling errors.
- Cost Management: Operate within PEP’s low-cost culture by finding operational efficiencies and controlling store expenses.
- Store Standards & Administration: Ensure that daily administrative duties align with PEP’s operational procedures and that the store is always kept in pristine condition.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a team of “Dynamos” through active coaching, development, and performance management.
- Maintain Health & Safety: Ensure high standards of housekeeping, compliance with safety procedures, and store cleanliness.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification is essential.
- Tertiary education in retail, business management, or a related field is a strong advantage.
- 1–2 years of experience in a leadership or management role within a retail environment.
- Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google GSuite.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
