About the Role: Systems Business Analyst
As a Systems Business Analyst, you will serve as the strategic link between the business, digital teams, and technology providers. Your work will ensure that Ackermans continues to build, test, launch, and maintain high-quality digital products that meet customer and operational needs.
This position involves interpreting business needs into clear technical solutions, designing business workflows, modelling data interactions, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful system integration and delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Business Process Design: Develop end-to-end business workflows, process models (BPMN), and use case diagrams to illustrate system interactions.

Solution Analysis: Create architecture diagrams, functional flowcharts, and use case narratives that clearly outline new digital solutions and enhancements.

Data Modelling: Apply basic SQL and Oracle knowledge to validate, manipulate, or retrieve data from enterprise systems.

Requirements Gathering: Capture user requirements through interviews, workshops, and business process reviews; translate them into clear business requirement documents (BRDs).

Testing & QA: Coordinate and perform test execution, ensuring software quality before deployment. Work with testers and developers to resolve issues and validate system performance.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of solutions and deliver progress reports for project stakeholders.

Collaboration: Act as the liaison between business users, developers, testers, and external vendors during the product development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Matric / Grade 12 is essential.

A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

3+ years of experience in systems or business analysis within a retail or fintech environment.

Proven experience using Oracle/SQL for queries and database validation.

Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
