Role Overview
DSV South Africa is seeking an experienced and professional Freight Forwarder – Air Export, Sky Services to join its high-performance team in Kempton Park. Based at OR Tambo International Airport’s Cargo Section, this role is focused on managing all aspects of airfreight export operations, including documentation, bookings, client communication, and cargo tracking.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in perishable airfreight, excellent knowledge of airline routes, and the ability to liaise with both clients and airlines efficiently. This position requires accuracy, urgency, and a passion for delivering excellence in the fast-paced logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate airline bookings as per client requirements and rate agreements

Prepare and issue all necessary export documentation, including AWB, SAD, PPECB, Phytosanitary Certificates, and Certificates of Origin

Communicate with clients via email and telephone regarding shipment status and documentation

Monitor and update booking lists and ensure daily tracking of cargo movements

Collaborate with warehouse teams for delivery scheduling and collections

Handle SARS acquittals and other customs-related processes

Provide clients with regular updates on cargo status and resolve queries promptly

Plan shipments daily and manage warehouse coordination effectively

Ensure accurate data entry and documentation for compliance with local and international airfreight regulations
Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) – essential

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in air export/perishable freight forwarding

Strong understanding of airfreight operations and industry compliance standards

Geographical knowledge and familiarity with airline capabilities and routes

Excellent relationship management skills with both clients and service providers

High attention to detail, with the ability to thrive under pressure

Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative

Proficiency in CargoWise1, ShipShape, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to interpret and complete freight documentation with high accuracy
