Role Overview
Premier FMCG seeks an experienced Despatch Supervisor to oversee daily despatch operations at the Polokwane Depot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the despatch team, ensuring timely loading and dispatch of stock, maintaining stock integrity, and upholding high standards of housekeeping within the despatch area. This role requires strong leadership skills, a sense of urgency, and excellent organizational abilities to meet operational targets in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and control daily despatch orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures
Supervise loading, receiving, and stock rotation activities
Assist with stock control by supporting monthly stock counts, transfers, and Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs) reconciliation
Check load documents and verify seal integrity before dispatch
Lead and oversee employees working in the despatch department to ensure productivity and compliance
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in despatch storage and loading areas
Account for all stock dispatched and ensure correct documentation
Prepare and submit weekly reports on despatch activities and performance
Ensure trucks depart on schedule and manage any dispatch-related queries promptly
Qualification Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent
Proficient computer literacy skills
Experience Requirements
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a despatch or warehouse environment within FMCG
Strong experience in stock management and warehouse operations
Skills and Attributes Required
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong leadership presence and ability to manage teams effectively
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good numerical and problem-solving skills
Strong sense of urgency and accountability
Ability to work well under pressure in a high-demand environment
Teamwork and respectful communication skills
Other Requirements
This is a 6-day position within a pressurized environment
Must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays as required
Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including night shifts
Ability to manage customer complaints professionally when needed
