Role Overview
Sanlam’s Firebird Group in the Western Cape is seeking a results-driven Financial Adviser to provide tailored financial advice, planning, and solutions to both new and existing clients. This role requires building sustainable, high-quality business while fostering strong client relationships that generate loyalty to the Sanlam brand.
The successful candidate will operate in a compliant, ethical, and customer-focused environment, contributing to the growth and success of the Sanlam Group.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Execute strategic marketing plans to grow your adviser business
Leverage market segmentation and customer profiling to identify new opportunities
Meet revenue generation targets for single and recurring premiums
Promote the Sanlam brand within your defined market segment
Apply Treating Customers Fairly principles to all client engagements
Networking and Lead Generation
Generate new business through social and business networking
Strengthen existing client relationships and increase service offering
Leverage existing Sanlam resources to identify cross-selling opportunities
Develop personalised client value propositions
Utilise social media for professional marketing
Implement targeted campaigns to acquire new clients
Mine existing client base for sales and marketing opportunities
Actively seek ongoing referrals from existing clients and networks
Client Consultations and Financial Planning
Conduct detailed fact-finding to understand client needs
Perform comprehensive financial needs analyses using Sanlam systems or Para-Planner support
Develop sound, personalised financial plans that align with client goals
Present financial solutions in a professional and competent manner
Ensure all advice and disclosures meet regulatory and ethical requirements
Maintain up-to-date client records and portfolio reviews
Client Relationship Management
Deliver professional, courteous, and ethical client service
Resolve client queries timeously through support channels
Stay informed on financial products, market trends, and regulatory changes
Initiate and maintain long-term client relationships based on trust and service excellence
Reporting and Compliance
Document and present weekly and monthly activities and progress
Maintain accurate records of contacts, appointments, consultations, and revenue
Ensure all compliance requirements are adhered to through proper documentation and processes
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
FAIS Fit and Proper status and Regulatory Examination successfully completed (if registered with FSCA for over 24 months)
Strong understanding of financial planning, compliance, and risk management principles
Proven ability to develop and manage client relationships
