Qualification Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, candidates must:

  • Be in the final year of studying towards a National Diploma in Biotechnology

  • Possess a valid tertiary institution logbook specifying the required workplace exposure and experience

Key Responsibilities

As an Intern in the Quality Control team, your daily activities will include:

  • Gaining practical experience in the Milling QC/QA processes

  • Participating in Laboratory testing and Quality Control of raw materials, in-process, and final products

  • Reporting any Food Safety and Quality Control deviations to relevant supervisors

  • Contributing to the site’s Food Safety Culture Plan

  • Participating in INVOCOMS (continuous improvement forums)

  • Capturing data in the LIMS system and issuing Certificates of Analysis (COAs)

  • Maintaining accurate records of all workplace exposure and activities in the official logbook, ensuring compliance with Seta and institutional requirements

  • Proactively communicating any academic requirements or formal training needs

  • Supporting the broader Quality Team across all manufacturing units on-site
