Position Overview: Food and Beverage Manager

The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire Food and Beverage operation, ensuring the highest service standards, managing costs, motivating teams, and enhancing profitability. You will ensure guests consistently enjoy an outstanding culinary experience, and that all F&B outlets operate efficiently and in line with company standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate (Essential)

• Hospitality Certificate or Hospitality Management Diploma (Advantageous)

• At least 5 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry within a reputable 4-star property

• Minimum of 18 months of management or supervisory experience in a Food and Beverage environment

• Proven knowledge of Food and Beverage operations and industry standards

• High level of customer service orientation and attention to detail

• Excellent organisational, numeracy, and cost control skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities

• Strong communication skills in English, with proficiency in IsiZulu and/or IsiXhosa considered an advantage

• High degree of self-motivation, ambition, and the ability to lead and work as part of a team

• Proficient with Opera and Micros Point of Sale (POS) systems

Key Responsibilities

Operational and Service Excellence

• Oversee the daily operations of all F&B outlets, ensuring exceptional service standards are maintained

• Lead by example, creating a warm, professional, and welcoming environment for guests and staff

• Address guest concerns and complaints promptly, ensuring a positive resolution and high guest satisfaction

• Consistently monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages, implementing improvements where required

• Ensure all F&B areas uphold the ANEW Hotels & Resorts brand standards

Financial Management and Revenue Control

• Accountable for achieving budgeted revenue targets for the Food and Beverage outlets

• Take full responsibility for the financial performance of the F&B department

• Monitor costs, implement effective stock control, and identify opportunities for revenue growth

• Manage procurement processes in line with company policies, ensuring high-quality products and value for money

• Maintain accurate records of revenue, stock levels, and expenses, preparing reports for senior management

Staff Leadership and Development

• Effectively manage and motivate the F&B team, promoting a culture of excellence, professionalism, and teamwork

• Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands and maintain service standards

• Recruit, train, and develop team members to enhance service delivery and professional growth

• Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and on-the-job training

• Foster a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement and development

Customer Experience and Guest Satisfaction

• Act as a brand ambassador for ANEW Hotels, ensuring every guest receives a warm, memorable experience

• Engage with guests during service periods, building rapport and addressing feedback proactively

• Continually seek ways to enhance the food and beverage offering to meet and exceed guest expectations

• Ensure consistent application of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations in all F&B areas

Administrative and Operational Duties

• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, company policies, and operational procedures

• Maintain accurate records, reports, and financial documentation for the F&B department

• Participate in operational meetings, contribute to strategic planning, and implement agreed action plans

• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors

• Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge
