Smollan is currently expanding its retail footprint and is looking for a passionate and goal-oriented Sales Consultant to join the team at their Century City, Cape Town branch.
Role Overview
The Sales Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving in-store sales, providing outstanding customer service, and executing marketing initiatives. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic, motivated by targets, and committed to creating a positive customer experience.
Working directly on the retail floor, you will engage with customers, promote products, and ensure that administrative tasks are handled efficiently. Your ability to influence purchasing decisions and maintain store standards will directly contribute to achieving business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales and In-Store Marketing

Proactively approach customers and identify their needs

Promote and sell products to meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets

Support promotional activities and ensure that product displays are visually appealing and well-stocked

Upsell and cross-sell complementary products based on customer preferences and buying behavior
2. Customer Service

Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting, assisting, and advising customers in a professional and friendly manner

Handle queries and complaints effectively to ensure customer satisfaction

Build long-term customer relationships that support repeat business and brand loyalty
3. Administration and Reporting

Capture sales data, customer feedback, and stock movement accurately

Maintain in-store records and reports for performance tracking

Ensure proper documentation of transactions and administrative compliance
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
-
Matric (Grade 12)
-
2–3 years of experience in a direct sales role, preferably within the retail environment

Experience in handling in-store customer engagement and product promotions
Technical and Core Competencies

Strong sales acumen with the ability to close deals confidently

Basic understanding of marketing principles and retail merchandising

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Good administration and data entry skills

Computer literacy – proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
