ROLE OVERVIEW
The Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring complete delivery accuracy and professionalism at every customer touchpoint. This role is essential in maintaining Twizza’s ODIFOT (On Day, In Full, On Time) delivery standard. The successful candidate must have the technical driving skills required for heavy-duty vehicles, along with strong administrative discipline for handling documents, managing stock, and following standard operating procedures.
This position requires more than just driving; it demands accountability for company assets, adherence to client service expectations, and teamwork in managing assistants during loading and offloading.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive and maintain delivery trucks and trailers in good working condition

Monitor and control fuel consumption, ensuring economical usage

Execute daily load plans efficiently by ensuring all deliveries are completed on time and in full

Assume full responsibility for stock loaded on the truck, including ensuring accurate documentation is prepared and available

Adhere to customer receiving procedures upon delivery and return to depot

Follow company-approved procedures for processing and handling returns

Collect pallets and boards as per route plan and capture information accurately on return sheets

Ensure that Proof of Delivery (POD) documents are correctly signed by the receiver or submitted digitally through EPOD systems

Deliver customer service that reflects Twizza’s commitment to excellence

Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle damage immediately to the transport supervisor

Supervise driver assistants during loading and offloading to ensure compliance with safety and route plans
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements

A Grade 12 certificate is required and non-negotiable

A valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence with G and P category on Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)

Demonstrated experience operating heavy-duty vehicles within the FMCG or logistics industry

Basic understanding of route planning, customer service protocols, and load documentation
Preferred Additional Skills

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal departments

Familiarity with replenishment ordering processes and stock control is advantageous

A history of safe driving and a strong record of compliance with traffic regulations and logistics procedures
