ROLE OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Operator: Picking is a vital role responsible for the accurate selection, packing, and counting of products according to picking instructions. This position supports the efficient and accurate fulfillment of customer orders, maintaining quality and safety throughout the process. You will contribute to warehouse productivity and customer satisfaction by ensuring orders are processed smoothly and correctly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately perform loose case and layer picking, selecting products based on detailed instructions

Pack items securely using appropriate packaging materials, ensuring quality and labeling standards are met

Maximise pallet stability for safe in-transit handling and delivery

Count and verify picked items to guarantee order accuracy and completeness

Identify and report any out-of-stock or short-picked items during the picking process

Use warehouse picking equipment, including pallet jacks, to efficiently navigate and retrieve stock

Collaborate with inventory control teams to maintain accurate stock records and report discrepancies

Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote operational efficiency and reduce errors

Report product or packaging issues, including damaged goods or labeling problems, for swift resolution

Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and stay current with warehouse procedures

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines, including proper PPE use

Contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment

Support team goals and contribute to overall warehouse performance
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification
-
Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in warehouse operations, preferably within FMCG retail

Valid Electric Pallet Jack license is essential

Experience in picking and packing operations is preferred
