ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Stock Clerk, you’ll be at the heart of stock integrity and inventory control within our Logistics Department in Bloemfontein. This role involves reconciling stock records, verifying goods movement against supporting documents, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that all stock-related information remains accurate and up to date. You will be responsible for generating detailed reports, performing audits using CCTV footage, and working collaboratively across teams to uphold Econo Foods’ high operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reconcile stock movements (e.g., purchase orders, transfers, write-offs) with documentation

Verify recorded transactions against physical gate activity and CCTV footage

Investigate stock discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and make corrections

Collaborate with teams across purchasing, warehouse, and finance for issue resolution

Review invoice-related stock records and maintain a missing and unsigned invoice register

Manage stock adjustments due to age, damages, or discrepancies

Perform stock recounts to validate inventory accuracy
-
Generate outbound movement reports using camera footage for traceability

Monitor and organize CCTV footage for audits and reconciliations

Conduct random checks to validate full load adherence and instruction compliance

Participate in coaching, team meetings, and ongoing improvement initiatives

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain compliance with all operational standards
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
-
3–5 years of proven experience in a stock control, logistics, or inventory position
-
Prior experience in the FMCG or retail sector is highly advantageous
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

High level of attention to detail and accuracy

Fluent in English (written and verbal)

Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
