As we grow, we are inviting hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our warehouse team as General Workers, with various positions available across the distribution network.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking 20 energetic, responsible, and team-oriented General Workers to join our dynamic Benoni Distribution Centre team. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals with or without warehouse experience who are eager to start or grow their careers in the fast-paced retail logistics environment. Various roles are available, including Pickers, Loaders, Cycle Counters, Forklift Drivers, Reach Truck Operators, Auditors, and Combiners. Your assigned position will be based on your experience, qualifications, and aptitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific duties vary depending on the role assigned. Key responsibilities across the general warehouse roles include:

General Worker:

  • Return overstocked, damaged, or short-dated stock to the distribution centre efficiently.

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse.

Picker:

  • Accurately pick products according to store picking slips and dispatch timelines.

  • Minimize picking errors and adhere to daily targets.

Cycle Counter:

  • Perform accurate cycle counts and track inventory movement.

  • Monitor stock discrepancies and report issues promptly.

Forklift Driver:

  • Load and offload trucks.

  • Move and stack pallets using a forklift safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain vehicle safety and adhere to operational protocols.

Reach Truck Driver:

  • Operate a reach truck and accurately pack stock onto high-level racks.

  • Ensure safety and compliance in stock handling.

Auditor:

  • Verify stock accuracy and expiry dates.

  • Count stock and report any damage or discrepancies before dispatching to stores.

Combiner:

  • Combine different product lines onto pallets.

  • Shrink-wrap and prepare products for safe delivery to retail outlets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 / National Certificate (essential).

  • 0–2 years warehouse/distribution centre experience (advantageous but not required).

  • Forklift or Reach Truck License required for equipment operator roles.

  • Basic computer literacy, especially Microsoft Excel.

  • Must be physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods.

  • Must be willing and available to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends (including Sundays) and public holidays.

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in task execution

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Good verbal communication skills

  • Numerical skills for basic counting and inventory tracking

  • Strong time management and organizational skills
