ROLE OVERVIEW
SAB is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Warehouse Supervisor to join its team at the Pietermaritzburg Depot. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient shift management, accurate inventory control, and the flawless execution of load plans. The ideal candidate will be experienced in warehouse and logistics operations, with a strong grasp of SAP systems and productivity improvement strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the morning inventory count and investigate inventory variances using structured problem-solving methods.

Improve Inventory Accuracy KPI through proactive analysis and corrective action plans.

Utilize SAP and warehouse tools to track material movements and maintain data accuracy.

Enforce layout adherence for key warehouse zones, including order picking, repacking, finished goods, and empties.

Manage pest control, hygiene, temperature controls, and prevent cross-contamination in line with food safety standards.

Drive compliance to Global Warehouse GOP standards and ensure location-based inventory system integrity.

Manage repacking operations and improve productivity while ensuring product quality.

Oversee the implementation of standardized picking processes and manage picking accuracy and labour productivity.

Utilize the SKAP tool to allocate and assign labour activities for optimal resource use.

Execute 5S initiatives and support continuous improvement through SOP development, process mapping, and management routines.

Lead team meetings, manage performance boards, and cascade performance metrics (KPI & PI) across individual team members.

Monitor loading/unloading productivity, TCT (Total Cycle Time), bay utilization, and improve Hl/man hour efficiency.

Promote and maintain safe warehouse practices in alignment with safety blocks and operational standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A relevant 3-year diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in warehouse or logistics management.

High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, Oasis, and handheld warehouse devices.

Proven SAP system proficiency is essential.

Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse layout, and safety regulations.

Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
