Position Overview
Fidelity Services Group is seeking Junior Fire Fighters to join the Spartan-based team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a rewarding career in firefighting, emergency rescue, and safety operations. Reporting to senior personnel, the successful candidates will be responsible for responding to fire incidents, performing emergency rescue services, operating firefighting equipment, and ensuring public and client safety.
As a Junior Fire Fighter, you will undergo continued mentorship while gaining hands-on experience in active emergency environments. You will contribute to both reactive and preventative fire services while ensuring that all safety and operational standards are met.
Key Responsibilities

Respond to emergency fire incidents, hazardous material situations, and rescue operations

Assist in the operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment and breathing apparatus

Provide basic medical care and support during rescue efforts
-
Conduct fire prevention inspections and support safety drills across client sites
-
Participate in continuous physical fitness and fire simulation training exercises
-
Deliver fire prevention education and training to client personnel
-
Maintain vehicles and equipment in optimal condition by performing routine checks and maintenance
-
Complete daily occurrence logs using digital record systems
-
Support compliance with national safety and health regulations in all operational environments
-
Provide accurate incident reports and coordinate with other emergency services when required
Qualifications and Experience
-
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent school qualification
-
Firefighter II Certification (NFPA 1001, IFSAC accredited)
-
Minimum of 2 years of relevant firefighting experience
-
Valid driver’s license (advanced driving experience an advantage)
-
Hazmat knowledge and emergency medical technician (EMT) certification required
-
First Aid (Levels 1–3) and Basic Ambulance Attendant training essential

Must be medically and physically fit for duty
-
Clean criminal record and high ethical standards
-
Sound understanding of fire chemistry, fire suppression systems, and prevention strategies

Familiarity with occupational health and safety procedures and incident response guidelines
