Our Quantum Farm Services contract is currently looking for a reliable and experienced Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driver to join our operations in Bergvlei, Gauteng. Role Overview
The Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver (Rigid) will be responsible for operating a heavy-duty vehicle (not exceeding 16,000 kg) to safely transport goods, materials, or products to and from designated delivery points. This role requires commitment to road safety, operational discipline, and excellent customer service. Candidates must be based in the Randfontein, Krugersdorp, Soweto, Bergvlei, or Bronkhorstpruit areas and should be able to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare the vehicle for each trip, ensuring it is roadworthy and complies with legal and company safety requirements.

Operate heavy-duty rigid vehicles in accordance with transport schedules and dispatch instructions.

Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, logging and reporting any issues.

Handle and process documentation accurately, including delivery notes, trip sheets, and customer receipts.

Load and offload goods responsibly and ensure delivery items are accurate and accounted for.

Maintain professional interaction with customers and clients during deliveries.

Comply with road regulations, company driving policies, and safety protocols.

Report any accidents, delays, or mechanical faults promptly to the supervisor.

Be flexible and available to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 / Matric certificate is essential.

Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) – PrDP “D” preferred for dangerous goods handling.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a professional heavy vehicle driver.

Clear understanding of vehicle safety, loading principles, and transport documentation.

Must be medically fit and pass company medical requirements.

Reside in Bergvlei, Bronkhorstpruit, Randfontein, Krugersdorp, or Soweto (own reliable transport is essential).

No criminal record – background checks will be conducted.
