Role Overview

The Internship: Communication Analyst position is ideal for a motivated graduate or final-year student in a communications-related field who is passionate about writing, stakeholder engagement, and organizational communication. Based within Discovery Corporate & Employee Benefits, the intern will support internal and external communication efforts across a variety of platforms and content types. This role offers hands-on exposure to the real-time execution of communications in a large, reputable organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Communication Analyst Intern will contribute to numerous projects and communications initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Gathering information from internal stakeholders to inform communication materials

  • Drafting content for internal stakeholder publications and operational announcements

  • Updating existing communication materials such as forms, emails, letters, and notices

  • Supporting compliance-related communications, such as changes in legislation or system enhancements

  • Maintaining a digital communication library and ensuring content is up to date

  • Collaborating with marketing and design teams to brief in content and manage delivery timelines

  • Organizing tasks, managing priorities, and meeting agreed-upon deadlines consistently

Required Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12)

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications or current enrolment in a communications-related degree

  • Competence in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  • Basic experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro

Advantageous:

  • Previous experience in a communications support role

  • Familiarity with corporate communication styles and professional writing standards
