We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Shop Assistant to join our Tyger Valley branch in Cape Town. If you have a passion for customer service, a flair for sales, and a can-do attitude, then we want to hear from you!

Role Overview

As a Shop Assistant, your main goal is to maximize sales by providing world-class customer service and ensuring that every shopper has a WOW experience. You’ll play a vital role in helping customers find what they need while keeping the store well-organized and attractive. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a proactive mindset, and an enthusiasm for retail sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver AWESOME customer service and ensure every customer leaves with a smile

• Help customers find products and provide detailed information about pricing, warranties, and availability

• Promote and upsell merchandise and services to increase overall basket size

• Ensure all merchandise is correctly priced, neatly displayed, and in line with promotional campaigns

• Execute store promotions according to the promotional calendar and merchandising guidelines

• Adhere to visual merchandising, cleanliness, and layout standards at all times

• Participate in stocktaking, manage inventory levels, and report on slow and fast-moving items

• Prevent stock loss through careful handling and security awareness

• Minimize operational expenses in your area of responsibility while maximizing sales opportunities

• Support your team and protect company assets with integrity and care

Minimum Requirements

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12) is essential

• Minimum of 6 months retail experience in a customer service or sales role

• Must have reliable transport and be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays

• Assist senior management with duties as required
