Role Overview

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency, safety, and organisation of the warehouse environment. Your role involves managing the physical movement of goods, supervising compliance with handling and safety regulations, coordinating dispatches and stock receiving, and overseeing warehouse health and hygiene standards. This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to someone with leadership skills, attention to detail, and a strong background in stock control and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee adherence to warehouse and goods-handling rules to maintain operational integrity

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and notify management of potential issues

  • Enforce occupational health and safety standards, ensuring a secure working environment

  • Ensure the warehouse maintains food safety and cleanliness protocols at all times

  • Accurately report damaged goods and maintain proper documentation for accountability

  • Supervise correct stock rotation and adherence to product display guidelines

  • Conduct regular warehouse checks and initiate repairs or maintenance when needed

  • Coordinate vehicle inspections with delivery drivers and ensure compliance with checklists

  • Manage dispatch operations to ensure timely, accurate outgoing deliveries

  • Validate that all stock being loaded matches the dispatch documentation

  • Oversee receiving processes for deliveries and ensure all documentation is correctly filed

  • Investigate and report stock shortages, discrepancies, or losses

  • Lead warehouse stock counts and cycle counting activities with full accountability

Job Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent required

  • Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is advantageous

  • Valid Code EC Driver’s License and/or Forklift License will be an asset

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations, including stock movement and control

  • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or people management role

  • Solid understanding of FMCG warehousing practices and safety standards

  • Ability to work under pressure and remain organized in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal communication, planning, and conflict-resolution skills

  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to spot errors or inefficiencies early

  • Self-motivated, with a proactive attitude and strong sense of responsibility
